Eleanor Raker, a junior at Galena High in Nevada, won the fastest section of the girls 1,600 meters in 4:54.26 at the Dublin Distance Fiesta at Dublin High in California. Raker captured the championship sombrero after finishing second in the top section last year in 4:55.77, becoming the first female athlete from Nevada in meet history to triumph in any of the sombrero races. Raker also secured second place in the fastest section of the 3,200 meters by clocking 10:36.73.
